Payment Terms

At Continental Motel, we strive to ensure a seamless and transparent booking and payment experience for all our guests. The following payment terms apply to all reservations, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

1. Accepted Methods of Payment

We accept the following payment methods:

Credit/Debit Cards – Visa and MasterCard

EFTPOS – Available on-site

Cash – In New Zealand Dollars (NZD) only

Bank Transfer – Available for pre-approved bookings, long stays, or corporate clients (must be paid in advance)

Please note: We do not accept personal or business cheques.

2. Deposit and Prepayment Requirements

Standard Bookings: No deposit is required at the time of booking unless specified, but a valid credit card is required to secure the reservation.

Peak Periods or High-Demand Dates: A deposit of 1 night's accommodation may be required to secure your reservation. You will be advised at the time of booking.

Non-Refundable or Advance Purchase Rates: Full payment is required at the time of booking. These bookings cannot be cancelled or refunded.

Group Bookings (3+ rooms): A deposit equal to at least the first night may be required to confirm the reservation, with full payment due prior to arrival.

3. Payment on Arrival

Full payment for your stay is due at check-in, unless previously prepaid.

Any additional charges, including extra guests, or damage fees, must be settled on check-out.

4. Credit Card Authorisation

A valid credit or debit card must be provided at check-in for all bookings.

A pre-authorisation may be placed on your card to cover any incidental charges or potential damages. This is not a charge, but it may hold available funds on your account.

The amount held will be released by your bank automatically within a few days (timing may vary depending on your bank’s policies).

5. Cancellation Charges and Refunds

Cancellations made at least 2 days before the arrival date will not incur a charge.

Cancellations within 2 days, no-shows, or early departures may incur a cancellation fee equal to one night's stay.

Refunds (if applicable) will be processed to the original method of payment and may take several business days to appear.

6. Corporate and Long-Stay Accounts

Business and corporate guests may apply for a charge-back arrangement or monthly billing, subject to approval and account setup.

Long-stay guests (7+ nights) may be required to pay weekly in advance unless other terms are arranged.

7. Outstanding Balances

Any unpaid balances, damages, or additional charges (e.g., lost keys, extra cleaning, smoking penalties, or missing items) must be settled before departure.

The motel reserves the right to charge the registered guest’s credit card for any unpaid amounts after check-out.

8. Invoices and Receipts

Tax invoices are available upon request.

Please ensure your billing details are correct at the time of check-in to avoid delays in processing.

9. Currency

All rates and charges are quoted and processed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include GST (Goods and Services Tax) unless stated otherwise.

1. Check-in and Check-out

Check-in: From 2:00 PM onwards

Check-out: By 10:00 AM

Early check-in or late check-out may be available upon request, subject to availability and may incur an additional fee. Please contact reception in advance to arrange.

2. Reservations and Payments

A valid credit card or deposit is required to confirm all bookings.

Full payment is generally required upon arrival unless otherwise arranged.

Rates are subject to change without notice; confirmed bookings are honoured at the agreed rate.

We recommend reviewing your booking confirmation for any special terms, rates, or package details.

3. Identification Requirement

All guests must present a valid government-issued photo ID (such as a passport or driver’s license) at check-in for identity verification and security purposes.

Failure to provide valid identification may result in refusal of accommodation.

4. Cancellation and Amendments

Cancellations or changes to bookings must be made at least 2 days prior to the scheduled arrival date to avoid cancellation fees.

Late cancellations, no-shows, or modifications within 2 days of arrival may incur a fee equal to one night’s accommodation or loss of deposit.

Please check your booking confirmation for specific cancellation policies related to your reservation.

5. Occupancy and Guests

Maximum occupancy limits apply to each unit as stated in the room description and must be adhered to for safety and comfort.

Additional guests or visitors must be approved by management before arrival. Extra charges may apply.

All guests must be registered upon check-in.

6. Parking

Each unit is allocated one dedicated parking space for the duration of the stay.

Parking is free of charge but limited to one vehicle per unit.

Additional vehicles must be parked off-site or at alternate arrangements made by guests.

7. Guest Conduct and Safety

We ask all guests to respect the property, other guests, and motel staff.

Excessive noise, disruptive or illegal behavior is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination of the stay without refund.

Smoking is prohibited inside all units and indoor areas. Designated outdoor smoking areas are provided for your convenience.

8. Pets

To ensure the comfort and safety of all our guests, Continental Motel has a no-pet policy.

However, we warmly welcome service animals that are trained to assist guests with disabilities.

Please inform us in advance if you will be accompanied by a service animal, so we can ensure a comfortable stay for both you and other guests.

9. Facilities and Amenities

Access to shared facilities such as the pool, spa, and laundry is available to registered guests only.

Children must be supervised by an adult at all times when using these facilities.

The motel reserves the right to close facilities temporarily for maintenance or safety reasons.

10. Maintenance and Access

For safety and maintenance purposes, management or authorized staff may access guest units with reasonable notice.

In case of emergencies, immediate access may be necessary without prior notice.

11. Liability and Insurance

Continental Motel takes reasonable care to provide a safe environment but is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage of personal belongings.

Guests are encouraged to insure their valuables and personal items.

Guests use the motel’s facilities at their own risk.

12. Privacy and Data Protection

We respect your privacy and handle your personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Guest information is only used to manage your reservation and stay, and will not be shared with third parties without your consent except as required by law.
