What a fabulous summer we are having. It has been a real boomer in the North and our swimming pool has been in hot demand as people cool off after their day’s travel. It looks like there is still plenty of sun coming and what better way to enjoy it but a weekend away in Northland. Whangarei is a great base to explore the north, indeed there is enough going on in Whangarei alone to make a weekend away busy and enjoyable.
Coming up in the next couple of months are Opera in the Garden on March 9th, the Fritter Festival on March 16, St Patrick’s Day celebrations on the 17th, the Mangawhai Food and Wine Festival on the 30th March and in early May the Northland Rally.
There are still a few Canopy Night Markets before the end of the season for lovers of gourmet foods, and the Artisan Fair Markets at the Town Basin on Saturday mornings.
The Continental Motel offers great accommodation for couples and families visiting Whangarei. The units are well equipped so you can easily cater for yourselves and supermarkets are just 400 metres away. However, we are also very close to a wide range of takeaways and restaurants so eating out or in is easy. The best thing in this heat is that we have air conditioning to ensure your comfort and a good night’s sleep.
And the pool! Deliciously heated to approximately 24 degrees – you could stay in for hours and the BBQ is always ready for you to use.
